Onomax -S 1.5 GM Injection is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Cefoperazone (500mg) and Sulbactam (500mg), designed to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Cefoperazone is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, leading to the death of susceptible bacteria. Sulbactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, enhances the activity of Cefoperazone by preventing bacterial enzymes (beta-lactamases) from inactivating the antibiotic, thus broadening its spectrum of activity.
This combination is highly effective in treating serious infections caused by both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including sepsis, pneumonia, urinary tract infections (UTIs), skin and soft tissue infections, and intra-abdominal infections.
